When Untours Foundation co-owner, Norma Taussig, suffered a stroke in recent years, one of her son-in-laws, John Freeburg, was moved by how difficult it was to make the Taussig residence handicap accessible. John, a general contractor, got the idea for Second Act Access, a non-profit construction company for building accessible housing while providing construction training to formerly unemployed and underemployed people. Second Act’s first house is being completed. Once sold, Second Act will pay off its $250,000 loan and begin its next project.
